IMMIGRATION PASSPORT
Citizens of all countries, except Nepal & Bhutan, require a
valid national passport or valid travel documents and a valid visa granted
by Missions abroad for entering India. Nepalese or Bhutanese citizens need
no passport or visa but should possess suitable documents for their identification
when proceeding from their respective countries.
VISAS
Any foreigner who wants to enter India must have a valid visa
affixed on his or her passport. This can be obtained from the Indian Consulate
in your country. Foreign nationals of Indian origin, their spouses and
children can obtain visas from the Consulate. Foreign nationals of Indian
origin, their spouses and children can obtain Entry Visas valid upto 10
years.
Tourist Visas can be obtained for six months, one year
and 10 years. Visas of the appropriate type should be obtained by students,
businessmen, journalists and others who want to visit India for professional
purposes.
India Travel Visa Types
There are ten types of India travel visas: Tourist, Transit, Entry, Business,
Employment, Research, Missionary, Journalist, and Conference.
India Visa Requirements
India visa requirements include, but are not limited to:
1 passport with a minimum validity of 6 months;
2 Two recent passport photos;
3 supporting documents;
4 completed India travel visa application form;
5 India visa fee payment.
